The Beach Huts are Back!

And that can only mean one thing... summer is around the corner!
Of course, it's only April, and if last year's anything to go by, we won't see much warm sunshine until July - but that doesn't stop us getting our hopes up. And the arrival of the colourful beach huts heralds the arrival of the summer season.
With Easter in a fortnight's time, Whitby is beginning to fill up again. The hustle and bustle of the busy season is nearly upon us - and we're looking forward to welcoming our many visitors over the summer period.
And with views like the one above to enjoy, it's no wonder that Whitby, with it's quaint character and slow pace of life has an enduring appeal.
If you're out and about in town this year, don't forget to make time to visit the town's West Cliff. The cobbled East Side is always well visited, with the historic 199 steps leading up to the Abbey and St Mary's Church. Remember, though, that the best views of these iconic locations are from the West Side.
So head up to the Whale Bones, stop for an ice cream at Clara's and explore Skinner Street and Silver Street - home to some of Whitby's wonderful small businesses.
You'll probably find it's quieter than Church Street and the Market Place - with plenty of great options for picninc spots - by the Whale Bones, Crescent Gardens, Pannett Park.
Whitby's small enough to get everywhere by foot - so let us challenge you to do just that. Visit parts of town you've not spent time in before - explore and enjoy.
Whitby is Yorkshire's crowning glory and it's easy to see why!
