Short Break Offers at Aislaby Lodge Cottages
We know it's not always possible to get away for a full week - and sometimes a short break is all that is needed to blow the cobwebs away and regain that relaxed, cosy, holiday feel!
Throughout the quieter season we're more than happy to offer short break stays in any of the cottages, provided there is suitable availability.
Whitby and the surrounding countryside certainly has a special, peaceful quality throughout the winter months - and there's nothing like the tranquility of Aislaby Lodge's Esk Valley views - even if we do say so ourselves!

Top Tips for a Short Break
If you're planning on booking a short break with us (or have already done so) and you're short of some ideas, here are our 'top tips' for how to spend your time:
- Whitby - of course!
Only 10 minutes away by car, Whitby provides enough of everything to keep the whole family, couple or group occupied for almost any length of time. Cafes, pubs, restaurants, galleries, independant shops... and if the weather's good - or even if it's not, you can't beat a stroll along the beach. - North York Moors Railway
Running throughout the year, and with some special events through the winter months, the North York Moors Steam Railway is a fantastic day out. Running from Whitby to Pickering via Grosmont, the Railway runs through some of the nicest countryside in the area, with views you won't get from anywhere else! For information visit their website at www.nymr.co.uk - Food and Drink
You'll need to eat, of course - and sometimes, doing it yourself just doesn't cut it! If this is the case, we can heartily recommend a number of local pubs and restaurants. In Whitby there's a good choice - everything from Chinese, Thai and Indian through to traditional pub meals and high-class restaurants! The Wheatsheaf in Egton is a personal favourite - but for a larger variety, visit our 'Where to Eat' page. - Countryside Walks
You can't beat getting out in the countryside and enjoying some fresh air. Aislaby Lodge has direct access to a number of public footpaths and bridleways or further afield you could enjoy a walk around Dalby Forest, or a stroll along the old railway path towards Robin Hood's Bay from Whitby.
However you spend your short break at Aislaby Lodge, we're sure you'll have a wonderful time!
